Knights of Columbus organization was founded on the principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism, the Knights of Columbus was established in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Conn., and a group of parishioners. Their intent? To bring financial aid and assistance to Catholic men and families who were coping with the loss of their sole provider. Today, Father McGivney is being considered for sainthood. Our Lady of the Assumption Knights of Columbus Council 11570 was founded in April 26 1995 and currently has 71 Members. Meetings are monthly on the 1st Monday of each month, with respect to holidays. If you are interested in joining the Knights, men are welcome to attend a monthly meeting and make a request to complete a Membership form.
Mission is to provide support and charity for the local parish, community, and organizations supported by the Knights of Columbus organization. Also to create a Catholic Brotherhood that grows spiritually through Christian charity and support for parish and community.

What OLOA Knights of Columbus Council #11570 do…
Provide support and charity for our local parish and community through volunteer work, fund raisers and benefit events. Grow spiritually in Christian Brotherhood through team work and works of Charity. Fund raiser events include Bingo at the OLOA Parish Hall on Tuesdays, Annual Shrimporee – Sell Gumbo, Family Fun Day, Fish Fry during Lent, and occasional Raffle.
Donations to support our local parish for various needs, such as Education, Scholarships, church repairs and renovations, etc.
In the past we have cooked for fund raiser events to benefit a needy family. We have assisted victims of fires, hurricanes, floods, illness and loss of a loved one. We stand ready to assist with almost any community crisis.
In Sept, 2017, Knights of Columbus Council #11570 and other councils provided free meals to Hurricane Harvey victims and first responders -
Texas Knights Provide Relief to Hurricane Harvey Victims and First Responders.
We also provide support to some of our Knights of Columbus state and national charity organizations such as Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity and American Wheelchair Mission. Recently we provided financial support to Ukrainian refugees.
